Roads Expected to Turn Icy Late Wednesday Early Thursday

At 2:43 PM the National Weather Service office in Green Bay issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Oneida and Lincoln Counties from 6 AM Thursday morning through 6 PM Thursday evening. However, it depends on the type of snow which at this point, the snow looks to first fall as a heavy wet snow, which would limit blowing and drifting. Wind chill values as low as -19.

Snow amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible near the Tennessee border for cities like Muscle Shoals, Athens and Huntsville. Light freezing rain possible to start, followed by snowfall of 5 to 7 inches. Blustery, with a north northwest wind 20 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 35 miles per hour. Cloudy and cold, with a high near 10. While rain has already swept across a large portion of the Lower 48, the second system is said to bring colder temps with Colorado seeing up to 12 inches in the next 24 hours.

Wednesday... Snow decreasing through the afternoon.

A strip of moderate snow totals (locally 6 inches or more) is possible over the High Plains of eastern Montana, as well as a swath from eastern Nebraska to northwest Iowa, Minnesota, northwest Wisconsin and the western Upper Peninsula of MI.

Friday: Snow likely, mainly before noon.

About 1.3 inches of rain fell at Alpine Meadows southwest of Tahoe, 1.2 inches at Donner Lake near Truckee and one-third inch in the foothills around Reno. Temps then warm a bit more for Friday with highs in the 40s and 50s.
