Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have taken 21 wickets in 3 ODIs so far. The visitors posted wins in the first two matches, clinching the match by six wickets and nine wickets respectively. While the Proteas batsman who are not used to playing spin on the rough South African patches are finding it hard to play turn, Indian batsmen play the duo in the nets every day and have accustomed themselves to the spin very well.

The Indian spinner is awestruck by the talent these two have exhibited. "They have done outstandingly well in the last two games picking up a majority of the wickets in both games and being the difference between both sides", said the skipper. There are players who can't read googlies.

This is a crucial distinction, because modern-day wrist spinners - especially those who are inspired by former Australia leg-spinner Shane Warne and perhaps even the retired Sri Lanka off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan - tend to attack their opponents rather than contain them. Elaborating on just what is working for Chahal and Yadav here, Kohli said the conditions have been almost ideal for the duo.

Virat Kohli's obsession with fitness along with his batting talents were on exhibition on Wednesday as 100 off his unbeaten 160 runs came in 1s, 2s and 3s! They have, time and again, played big roles in the team's victories at home.

Morris, the last possible hope for South Africa, was trapped lbw with the score at 150. But they are very fearless and even on flatter pitches, wrist-spinners will come into play and they have made that difference in the game. "They are not afraid to impart extra spin to gain something, and they are not dependent on the pitches", Arun stated. "That's why they are effective". The Proteas have not lost an ODI series at home since losing 2-1 to Pakistan in 2013.

Both Chahal and Kuldeep have stated that their effectiveness stems from having received a univocal brief to attack at all times, even at the risk of going for boundaries.

So hapless were South Africa that they employed five wrist spinners in the nets ahead of the third match at Cape Town.

What was novelty after the first game and excitement after the second, is slowly ceding way to becoming expectation of a bunch of wickets, such has been the two tweakers' hold over the South Africans. He, however, said it is not the end of the road for Ashwin and Jadeja in the ODIs. They can answer it better; about their problems. He was at the NCA working on his fitness and strength, because we knew the workload in South Africa is going to be pretty high. If you have doubts in your mind, then that reflects on your batting. As we have said earlier, we will rotate the bowlers and keep them nice and fresh.

South Africa who are already trailing behind 2-0 in the six-match series would aim to bounce back strongly in the third ODI but the team will once again be without three of their key batsmen which makes it more hard for them. Meanwhile, AB de Villiers, Faf du Plessis and Quinton de Kock have all been ruled out of the remaining matches on this Indian tour.
