Russian plane crash

Russian investigators are searching snow-covered fields near Moscow for clues why a passenger plane crashed.

Instead of taking warning, he boarded the tragic jet liner and was killed when the AN-148 plane "exploded" in mid-air.

The country's health minister said recovery of all of the victims' remains could take up to a week.

More than 1400 body parts and hundreds of plane fragments have been recovered from the crash site.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations also published a list of passengers, among whom was Varsik Savoyan.

Investigators said they had opened a criminal case into the incident and were looking at all possibilities.

The passenger plane was carrying 65 passengers, including three children, as well as six crew members.

The plane was scheduled to travel 1,500 kilometres south east to the town of Orsk. Most victims were from Orsk, where the authorities declared an official day of mourning on Monday. The aircraft only had one crash back in March 2011, which was a result of an in-flight break-up during a test flight.

The choir had been due to give a concert to Russian troops operating in Syria.

That inspection led to the discovery that a close relative of the airline's general director was "in the cockpit during operations", said ch-aviation, which maintains aviation industry data.

Pilot error was blamed for that crash.

Its production in Russian Federation was halted past year, and media reports indicated that some carriers, including Saratov Airlines, experienced a shortage of spare parts.

In 2010, another An-148 operated by a Russian carrier suffered a major failure of its control system but its crew managed to land safely.

All 71 people on board are believed to have been killed.

The Russian Transport Ministry told Interfax that several reasons of the crash were being considered, including weather conditions and human factors.
