United States declares 3 Pakistan-based militants as global terrorists

Due to the designation as "global terrorists" all the property and interests in property of the 3 subject to United States jurisdiction are blocked, as well as any transaction with any U.S. citizen.

"Treasury continues to aggressively pursue and expose radicals who support terrorist organizations and run illicit financial networks across South Asia".

Rahman Zeb Faqir Muhammad (Rahman Zeb) was designated for providing financial, material, or technological support for, or other services to or in support of, Lashkar-e Tayyiba (LeT), a UN- and USA -designated terrorist organization based in Pakistan.

The US has designated three Pakistanis as key "terrorist facilitators" for providing logistical support, improvised explosive devices and technological assistance to Al Qaeda, Lashkar-e-Taiba and the Taliban, as well as for working closely with Shaykh Aminullah, a well-known backer of the three terror groups. Those targeted Wednesday include Rahman Zeb Faqir Muhammad, said to have collected funds for Lashkar in the Gulf and to have been a long-standing contact for Lashkar members involved in Afghan operations.

Afghan and USA officials have long alleged insurgents use sanctuaries in Pakistan for planning deadly attacks on the other side of the border, charges Islamabad denies.

USA officials allege that Shaykh Aminullah turned the Ganj madrassa, a boys school in Peshawar, into a training and recruiting base by Al-Qaeda, the Taliban and Lashkar-e-Taiba. The department said Hizb Ullah Astam Khan, who served as a financial official at the madrassa, was previously a bomb expert.

Dilawar, meanwhile, was a close assistant to Shaykh Aminullah, arranging his travel around Pakistan and handling his correspondence and financial transactions.

It is extremely rare for USA authorities to comment on CIA-run drone operations in Pakistan.

Dilawar Khan Nadir Khan (Dilawar) also was designated for acting for or on behalf of Shaykh Aminullah. Dilawar has also facilitated funds transfers, including worldwide transactions, on behalf of Shaykh Aminullah.

Dilawar, another leader at the madrassa, is said to have relayed Aminullah's messages, transferred funds and facilitated his travel in Pakistan and the Gulf.
