Jennifer Lawrence has responded to the controversy over the revealing dress she wore to a winter photo call

Jennifer Lawrence's new movie "Red Sparrow" is a spy movie filled with violence, sex, and nudity, the latter of which the Oscar-winning actress was anxious about taking on, according to her upcoming interview on Sunday for "60 Minutes".

"I struggled through school, I never felt very smart".

"This is not only utterly ridiculous, I am extremely offended", she writes.

But when she started reading scripts, something clicked for the star of "Red Sparrow". Am I going to let fears and insecurities and paranoias rule my life, or am I going to make a movie that I think is important to make, and empowering and a character that I love? "I found what I wanted to do and I didn't want anything to get in the way of it".

In fact, Lawrence adds that she even prioritized her work over friends for a good chunk of her career. "This is what I was meant to do'".

In a few short years, Jennifer Lawrence has risen to the top of Hollywood, but her path to success wasn't exactly easy.

Jennifer Lawrence just recently faced criticism when she stepped out for a Red Sparrow appearance in nothing other than a sleeveless dress - in 49-degree weather.

In a new "60 Minutes" interview with Bill Whitaker, Jennifer Lawrence shared an unexpected tidbit about her childhood! Two years later, she would land her breakthrough role in the 2010 film "Winter's Bone" and earn her first Oscar nomination at the age of 20.

Lawrence, ironically one of the strongest backers of the Time's Up campaign, denounced her feminist critics: "Wow".

According to a report from People magazine, the Louisville native made the comments during a soon-to-be-aired 60 Minutes interview.

"None of that was gonna really bring me peace, none of that was gonna bring my nude body back to me and Nick (ex-boyfriend Nicholas Hoult), the person that they were intended for", she continued.

She tells Whitaker the one thing between her and the new role was the nudity it required.
