Two impersonators, bearing striking resemblances to President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, were both booted from the Olympic Games' opening ceremony in Pyeongchang, South Korea on Friday.

What happened at the dinner?

"Huge cheers in the stadium at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics opening ceremony when the Korean team - simply called "Korea" in French, English and Korean - entered", another viewer wrote.

World leaders including United States Vice-President Mike Pence, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier attended the opening extravaganza held at the 35,000-seat Pyeongchang Olympic Stadium yesterday.

Experts have cautioned that the current burst of sports diplomacy does not put an end to underlying regional tensions.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal in January, Trump said he "probably" has a "very good relationship" with Kim.

Later in January, a communications hotline was reinstated between the two countries, whose authorities then met for the first high-level talks in two years.

"We're going to promote peace and show people this is what peace can look like".
