Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp full of praise for Mane, Salah after Porto rout

Jurgen Klopp was a happy man after his side's thumping victory at the Estádio do Dragão as they would now return to Anfield on an away advantage of a staggering 5 goals.

Porto coach Sergio Conceicao felt his side allowed the game to get away from them at 2-0 when they still had a chance to claw something back. Yet, Mané would end things with an emphatic finish for the hat-trick.

Firmino started the move with a backheeled pass and almost rounded it off when slotted through by Salah, but Sa's save was only a temporary reprieve for the Dragon's as Mane converted from the follow-up.

It was more stunning artistry from the Egypt global and, given that it is only mid-February, it is not unreasonable to expect that he could surpass the 40-goal mark by the end of the season.

"Who was quickest? (answer George Allan). Wow".

Although Mane's role in Liverpool's success has perhaps been overshadowed so far in 2017-18, Klopp says that the Senegalese showed he is as important a piece in the squad as any other. He was splendid with his pace and ball control as he continued to toy around the Porto defenders who became a mute witness to the 25-year-old's breathtaking skills.

The stadium was half empty by the time Mane completed the rout, and his hat-trick, five minutes from time.

"I don't know if Porto are going to be afraid but we are going to make their life hard and make them suffer", said Firmino, who has 20 goals for the season in all competitions.

"I saw a lot of fantastic performances tonight and it's always only possible a result like this if they are all spot on".

"That's a real quality if you are not 100 percent and still scoring, maybe not that often but involved in goals then that's really important", Klopp told Sky Sports.

Last night, however, he put in his best performance of the season.

Mohamed Salah then netted a sensational second, juggling the ball with his feet and head to round Sa after James Milner's effort rebounded off the post.

"But if you attack Liverpool, you do it at your peril at the moment, because if you leave that front three with any space, they're linking up perfectly".

"We spoke about Mo in the last few weeks, completely deserved, but obviously Sadio had his comeback tonight, very good, and Roberto (Firmino) was there again after outstanding work rate again".
