Paulo Fonseca to replace Sam Allardyce at Everton?

Playing only his 2nd game since returning from a 10-month injury layoff due to a double fracture, Coleman appeared to have suffered a muscle injury, leading to his withdrawal at the start of the 2nd half.

"I don't know what Seamus' injury is, but he's going for a scan tomorrow", the Everton manager said.

Former England manager Allardyce, 63, replaced Ronald Koeman late past year, signing an 18-month contract.

Everton have faltered since the initial bounce brought about by Sam Allardyce's appointment as manager, Saturday's win being only their second in 10 games.

"Sometimes I'm amused by them, sometimes surprised, in this case dismayed".

"The first goal was a long goal kick that got headed up into the air and the second centre-back got caught on the wrong side of Sigurdsson, dived in to challenge and Sigurdsson skipped past him, then [James] Tomkins went for the block and it deflected in". Lots of players haven't played up to their potential this season.

"While it's much more important you do it here in front of your home fans than away, even though we've got great away support, there's 30-odd thousand here so when you make them happy, that's what you're here for". We have shown what we can do and hopefully we can improve for the rest of the season.

Our home form is very good, our points per game is very good, eight games at home since I've been here and 17 points.

"Away from home, we need to be tougher mentally and be able to sit in and dig it out and frustrate a bit more".

Asked if he would be willing to share a drink with Allardyce, Hodgson replied: "We've a train to catch so I don't think there will be time".
