As such, Montella suggests Sevilla might have to cross the line in order to stop him at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Sanchez claimed an assist in United's 2-0 FA Cup defeat of Huddersfield Town on Saturday and has generally looked lively in the majority of his outings since leaving the Gunners. "He has improved so much as his career has progressed, he's very fast, he leads counterattacks, he's very strong", Montella said. "I hope he doesn't play".

The LaLiga side were knocked out by Leicester City a year ago and are now hoping to make it to the Champions League quarterfinals at the fourth time of asking.

When questioned about his tactical plans on stopping the Chile worldwide, the former AC Milan coach was blunt in his response; "Well, maybe we can kill him or knock him down or something!".

"I remember him really well from his stay in Italy", Montella said about the former Arsenal star, as quoted via KweseESPN. He said: "Alexis is a top level player, I knew him from Barcelona he's fast, intelligent and he can cause us a lot of damage if we're not on top of him".

Montella also spoke highly of United manager Jose Mourinho, labelling the Portuguese coach a "pioneer" who he admires.

"I'm very excited because he was a pioneer in his way of working. I have read many books and I think Mourinho is quite a good rival".

"I have seen some Sevilla matches and we are anxious about every player from this team".

"I know that Man City and Liverpool did really well but we're really looking forward to tomorrow night and we are confident we can get a good result".

Montella took over as Sevilla coach in December following the sacking of Eduardo Berizzo, and is taking charge of only his second Champions League tie. I came here in a hard period for my club (Real Madrid), in a period of a great dominance of our big rival.
