Her family reported her missing December 28, and she was found dead the following day. The man, identified as 42-year-old Shawn Schwartz, was later cleared. According to an arrest affidavit, Lopez said Bollinger placed an ad under Craigslist's "Women seeking Men" section and took out a "hit" on herself. He then said he changed his mind about going through with the shooting and dropped her off at her apartment, but authorities informed him that they tracked his Global Positioning System to the location where the teen's body was found. Lopez then confessed to the killing, authorities stated.

Mr Lopez claims he was just responding to an ad the teen had posted on Facebook. He was charged on January 10 with assaulting police officers who were conducting a welfare check on him. He told the Daily Camera that police questioned him about her death.

Shawn Schwartz was initially said to be a person of interest after Bollinger had posted on Facebook two weeks before her death that he was stalking her.

They asked him Thursday as he arrived for work at Domino's Pizza if he was willing to answer some questions, the Denver Channel reported.

The affidavit states that Lopez told detectives he changed his mind about killing the teen and dropped her back off at her apartment.

He then told investigators how he had come in contact with Bollinger, according to the affidavit.

He said after a conversation spanning more than 100 texts, he agreed to kill her for a price.

That man had nothing to do with the murder, McIntosh said.

Police archives express some of Bollinger's loved ones told delegates she had a past filled with self-destructive considerations, however others said she was upbeat and was anticipating going to class.

He initially denied he was with her when she died, but investigators countered with evidence that showed his cellphone at the scene of the crime, the affidavit said.

An autopsy report stated that Bollinger had a potentially lethal amount of heroin in her blood at the time of her death.

He said Bollinger "knelt down on the ground and that he knelt down along her left side and slightly in front of her".

The court document further quotes Lopez as saying that after they drove to a secluded spot, he shot Bollinger after they both got down on their knees and said a prayer, the station reported.

At the news conference, McIntosh never discussed the affidavit.

Lopez voluntarily accompanied police to a a substation for an interview and told them that he responded to Bollinger's post with a "fake persona" he used to convince her that he was a hit man who could help her commit suicide.

McIntosh said during Friday's news conference that a weapon was found "around" Lopez but it's too early into the investigation to connect it to Bollinger's death.
