At least 3 people were killed and 14 people were injured in a massive blast in the boiler of a chemical factory at Tarapur's Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area of Palghar in Maharashtra.

The blaze spread to adjoining Aarti Drugs, Prachi Pharmaceuticals, Bharat Rasayan, Unimax chemicals and another unit.

People those who are injured are admitted to a local hospital.

Tarapur Atomic Power Station, which is also located on the Boisar-Tarapur Road, is around 20 kilometres from the spot, he said.
