Refusing to comment on the apology tendered by Kejriwal, Sanjay Singh said: "I stand by whatever I have said in the past and irrespective of whatever is being said here and there".

Also, a loan taken earlier has not been paid back by the corporation, they said.

A day after majority of AAP MLAs in Punjab contemplated a split, senior AAP leader HS Phoolka on Saturday asked party legislators to seek "autonomy" for the state unit rather than forming a separate party "in the best interest" of the state. While Arvind Kejriwal in his apology said the allegations against Bikram Majithia were "unfounded", his party MLAs said they will continue to raise the issue of drug and still believe Bikram Majithia was "involved" in the trade.

Arora also called Kejriwal's apology painful.

"I'm resigning as a president of AAP Punjab..." Addressing a press conference here, BJP Delhi unit President Manoj Tiwari said: " What we have been saying for long has been proved today. I have come here as the chief minister of Delhi and not as the leader of the AAP.

To a question, he said that some party MLAs did not attend the second round of meeting due to some preoccupation, but they are standing by the decisions taken in the meeting. With what face will they speak against drugs in Punjab now?

In a statement, which was also submitted to an Amritsar court hearing a defamation case against Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party leader said: "In the past, I made certain statements against you regarding your alleged involvement in the drug trade".

"Kejriwal was leading the such circumstances, Kejriwal's apology was painful, very unfortunate".

The Leader of Opposition, Vijender Gupta, blamed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of not introducing a bill to relieve traders from sealing.

"We fight for the people on streets. However, we will fight for people in court", Sisodia said, adding, "If we spend time in court, then how we will be able to spare time for the people?"

Before splitting up the leader of opposition in the state assembly Sukhpal Singh Khaira along with LIP leaders released a "chargesheet" against Amarinder Singh lead Congress government.

Punjab Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu accused Kejriwal of "murdering" the AAP in Punjab by his apology, while Union Minister and BJP leader Vijay Sampla said the Delhi CM can go to any extent to "grab power".
