Bollywood singer Aditya Narayan arrested after his Mercedes-Benz GL-Class SUV hits autorickshaw

(G.N.S) DT.13 was on Monday taken into custody by the Versova Police for allegedly hitting an auto-rickshaw with his Mercedes and injuring its senior citizen driver and a woman passenger. The accident took place in front of Indralok building, Lokhandwala back road, Andheri (West) at around 12:30 in the afternoon.

The auto-rickshaw's female passenger and the ricks driver sustained minor injuries in the accident and were rushed to a hospital by Narayan. "Rickshaw driver and passenger were injured in the incident". Two people, an autorickshaw driver and a woman passenger travelling in the auto, were allegedly injured by Aditya's vehicle.

His father, the much loved singer Udit Narayan, came out with a reply defending his son's demeanor and said, "Aditya has been a good kid since his childhood and he has worked hard".

Aditya said he was charged under Section 337 of Motor Vehicles Act - "no other offenses" - and fined around Rs 10,000, and granted bail immediately, dismissing all speculation in the matter.

The singer was trolled on Twitter as many of them even said Salman Khan to be his first student!

Speaking on the same, Paramjit Singh Dahiya from DCP Zone 9 confirmed about the arrest of Aditya and maintained that investigations are on. He was quoted by IANS as saying, "It was an unfortunate accident. and I feel sorry for what has happened". Whether the injuries are life-threatening or not, I will not comment on that as the doctors are treating them. But the cops arrested him after the victim's family chose to press charges against him. "The autorickshaw driver's treatment is likely to continue".
