A Southwest Airlines flight from Phoenix to Dallas made an emergency landing Sunday night after pilots reported an odd smell and smoke in the cockpit. In one video, someone can be heard yelling "move away from the aircraft".

"I hit the ground really hard and was just shell-shocked that I just had to jump off the wing of an airplane", he said.

Passenger David Fleck said he was surprised to discover there were no emergency slides near the exit door over the wing.

This disputes earlier reports of the flight being diverted due to cabin smoke, possibly caused by an electrical fire.

The Albuquerque Fire Department tweeted that two people were taken to hospital. Their injuries are unknown at this time.

A Dallas police officer who was on the flight praised Southwest attendants following the incident on Twitter.

Passengers have since re-boarded another flight and are now headed to their original destination with an expected arrival of 1:15 a.m. CT.

Flight 3562 traveling last evening from Phoenix Sky Harbor to Dallas Love Field diverted to Albuquerque International Sunport after our Crew noted an unusual smell the cabin. "The captain declared an emergency to receive priority handling from air traffic controllers after deviating from the filed flight plan", Southwest told CBS. After the aircraft landed in Albuquerque, 140 passengers evacuated via escape slides onto a taxiway, and five requested assessment by medical personnel, according to Southwest.

Southwest is the largest airline operating out of Tampa International Airport.
