The Dubai-based airline has promised its "full cooperation" with the investigation.

We chose to hold back publishing details of the incident until we had received more information - although the exact circumstances surrounding this tragic event have still not been made public.

An Emirates flight from Entebbe International Airport, Uganda to Dubai was disrupted after an Emirates cabin crew member jumped/fell from an open emergency exit, right before take off.

Francis Sekandi, the Public Relations Officer of Kisubi Hospital, was earlier today quoted in the local media confirming that Vassileva has succumbed to injuries sustained during the fall. Emirates has yet to identify the cabin crew member by her name and nationality.

It remains unknown how or why she fell off the emergency exit of the plane.

This was in response to reports making the rounds on social media reports that she had died.

The airline has yet to reply to a request for comment from Newsweek, but an Emirates spokesperson confirmed the incident to the Khaleej Times.

An investigation has been launched after the unnamed member of staff fell from an open door while preparing the aircraft for boarding on Wednesday.
