Mario comes to Google Maps

Google is playing great today by bringing Nintendo's mustachioed star, Mario to Google Maps in another Mario Kart to observe Mario Day - March 10. Thirty years later, something truly awesome has happened, at least for Super Mario Bros fans.

With Mario being one of the most favourite cartoon characters among people, Google churned out a unique way to inject him back into our lives.

Nintendo and Google have teamed up to celebrate National Mario Day (which is actually March 10th) with a special Google Maps tribute to Mario Kart. On March 10, which has been dubbed "Mario Day", Google made a decision to give users the chance to be guided by Super Mario himself. Once updated enter the location you want to go and get your directions.

"Next, simply click on the yellow '?' icon found on the bottom right of your Google Maps app on Android or iOS". Drivers using Maps have the option to swap the traditional navigation arrow with Mario on his kart. Update the maps app from Google Play or the App Store. He'll be a constant companion wherever you're driving this week- to work, to school, or the curry house. Well, that's what Google said in a blog recently.

This is not the first time, Google Maps has incorporated video games in its interface. The game's creators were Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka. This won't last forever as Mario is only set to drive you around for a week. This is in partnership with the game developer, Nintendo.
