It's not abnormal for people to leave White House: Sanders

In the wake of the deadly Florida school shooting, President Trump hosted a White House meeting on graphic video game violence Thursday.

"We welcomed the opportunity today to meet with the President and other elected officials at the White House", the Entertainment Software Association said in a statement.

On the other side of the fence were a retired US Army lieutenant colonel who called games "murder simulators" in his book, plus a couple of people connected to the Parents Television Council which supported a law to criminalize the sale of violent video games to children.

At the same event he said "You see these movies, they're so violent and yet a kid is able to see a movie if sex isn't involved, but killing is involved". I get to see things that you wouldn't be - you'd be amazed at.

According to a report today from The Washington Post, representatives from game industry stakeholders like the Entertainment Software Association will be sitting down with Parents Television Council founder Brent Bozell and Missouri Representative Vicky Hartzler (R), both of whom have publically called on the US government to crack down on violence in media.

"I'm not sure there are any winners in trade wars", said Johnson, who ran a plastics manufacturing business in Wisconsin before being elected to the Senate.

Breitbart Tech has previously debunked the claim that video games cause violence.

Markey also noted that when a violent video game releases, crime rates drop. "And we have to do something about maybe what they're seeing and how they're seeing it". Research from the Federal Trade Commission has indicated this system, the Entertainment Ratings Board System (ESRB), is effective.

The industry's Entertainment Software Association (ESA) trade group has signaled it intends to again defend video games from being used as political scapegoats, but insiders told the Daily Beast on Tuesday they're seriously concerned.

Less than a month after the shooting, the former House Speaker and Republican Newt Gingrich said that "Hollywood and computerized games have undermined the core values of civility".

Biden said: "I come to this meeting with no judgment".

In fairness, however, others who should know better have contributed to misunderstandings about violent video games.
