Jeff Hardy arrested for DUI, WWE statement

News broke overnight that WWE Superstar Jeff Hardy was arrested on Saturday, March 10 in Concord, North Carolina, for DWI, or driving while impaired - which, while sounding like DUI, or driving under the influence, isn't exactly the same thing.

According to the Cabarrus County Sherriff's Office, Hardy was arrested at 10:20pm on Saturday night, and was released from jail about an hour later at 11:24pm.

The accident report says that hard "ran off the roadway to the right, in turn striking about 105 feet of guardrail before the back end of the vehicle spun out of 90 degrees to the left, coming to rest in the middle of the right N bound lane of travel". We've made attempts to confirm the information with police, but have yet to hear back. Hardy's North Carolina license has already been suspended and has a court date set for April 16.

Hardy was sidelined from the wrestling world for six months following a surgery in September 2017.

Although the details are not yet known for the latest run-in, it could potentially delay the former WWE champion's return to the spotlight.

WWE filmed The Ultimate Deletion with brother Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt at the Hardy Compound last week.

Jeff Hardy is an American professional wrestler, who had signed to WWE on the Raw brand. It remains to be seen whether WWE has plans for Jeff at WrestleMania, expects to bring him back after the year's biggest show, or will react one way or another to this latest development.

This is not the first time Hardy has had a brush with the law.
