Pardew is due to hold informal discussions with members of the Albion board tomorrow, but such meetings are regular when the head coach and his bosses are at the training ground together.

Claud Puel claimed that striker Jamie Vardy and his Leicester teammates showed their true quality, after coming from behind in the 4-1 thrashing against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

West Bromwich Albion have eight matches left to save their Premier League hopes.

"The one thing I'm not going to do is what I said on Thursday, is I'm not going to lay down tools".

"And what kind of manager do you need when you're in the Championship?"

"Before you even ask will I speak to upstairs?"

Pardew told his team that a failure to fight for the final 20 minutes was "unacceptable" but it was also an indication that the players are not responding to his methods.

Goalkeeper Ben Foster said: 'At half-time we were well in the game.

"The one thing I am not going to do is what I said on Thursday. Yes I will, of course I will, because it's getting hard", said Pardew after the game.

"You have to fight". You have to fight until the end.

Vardy should have levelled when he headed wide from Mahrez's searching delivery but, after Kasper Schmeichel brilliantly tipped a deflected strike from West Brom midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak against the crossbar, Leicester's go-to attacking duo combined to stunning effect. He had been in the Far East for much of the week, reporting to the club's hierarchy and discussing plans for next season.

"I do have a problem with it because I've supported him and played him and stuck by him when he's not been particularly great", he added. I made it very clear to him on the bench I'm not accepting that, I think it's wrong.
