Splatoon 2 Version 3.0 to Launch in April Octo Expansion Revealed for the Summer

New stories will shed new light on Splatoon characters and add to the game's overall lore. Titled the Octo Expansion, this paid DLC will task you controlling Agent 8 to travel throughout a subway underground and a unusual testing facility. Once completed, it will allow players to (finally) go into online battle as an Octo rather than an Inkling.

What's in the Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion? The Octo Expansion adds a new single player campaign to the game, putting players into th shoes of Agent 8 as she attempts to escape an underground testing facility. Along the way, you'll meet Capt'n Cuttlefish, and Pearn and Marina will contact you via radio.

Of course there may be more packed into Version 3.0, like weapon balancing and even some fine-tuning with Salmon Run, but we'll just have to wait next month to see!

During the March Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced the Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion.

There will be a new rank to strive for as well. By clearing the story, you will be able to join multiplayer matches as an Octoling. The DLC is available for pre-order now for $19.99, and if you purchase now, you'll get octo headgear and clothes as a neat bonus. There will also be Rank X, which will be higher than S+.
