He also met Mr. Subramaniam Sathasivam, president of the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) in Kuala Lumpur.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi today said that had he been prime minister he would have thrown the file proposing demonetisation of currency notes into dustbin.

"Whatever the reason, I do not condone any kind of violence", said Rahul during an interaction with alumni of the Indian Institutes of Management in Singapore.

Rahul Gandhi's comments in Malaysia today were reminiscent of what he said during a tour of the United States of America that he undertook a year ago.

"When one realises that when these events take place, it's (a) collision of ideas, forces, confusion".

"And second was.I felt really bad for him and for his kids", said Gandhi during the interactive session. "I find it hard to hate people, even my sister does", added Rahul Gandhi.

Rajiv Gandhi, who became Prime Minister by accident when his mother Indira Gandhi fell to her own guards' bullets in 1984, was assassinated at Sriperumbudur off Chennai on 20th May, 1990 when he was about to address an election meeting; Dhanu, a female suicide bomber, set off the explosion. "I and Priyanka were in agony and were angry over our father's killers for many years; now, however, we have forgiven them", he said. I fail to understand why we should be lenient towards someone who collaborated with foreigners to kill our former Prime Minister.

Taking to Twitter, the BJP leader wrote, "Forgiving by the son of his father's LTTE killers at the prime of Rajiv's age means suspicion of supari killing". So you live in a particular environment... surrounded by 15 guys from morning noon and night, I don't thinks that's a privilege.

"Out through the door and into the junkyard, because that's what I think should be done with demonetisation", he added.

The Congress shared his video of speaking on the issue and captioned it as: " Congress President Rahul Gandhi tells us how he would have rolled out #Demonetisation better.
