Boris Johnson Slams Moscow's Response to Expulsion of Russian Diplomats From UK

Some British lawmakers have urged Prime Minister Theresa May to freeze the private assets of senior members in Russian President Vladimir Putin's circle.

The move came moments after Britain's ambassador to Russia, Laurie Bristow, was summoned to the ministry.

Skripal and his daughter may have been exposed to the nerve agent used in their attempted assassination through his auto ventilation system, intelligence sources told the U.S. television channel ABC news. The pair remain in critical condition.

Today, it said that its actions was a response to Britain's "provocative actions" and "baseless accusations" over the incident in Salisbury.

Former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter, Yulia, are still struggling to live after being poisoned with Russian-produced Novichok in Salisbury two weeks ago.

British Prime Minister Theresa May said Saturday that her government will consider its next steps against Moscow after consulting with Britain's allies over the next few days.

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson told reporters that it was "overwhelmingly likely" that Putin himself ordered the attack.

British police said there is no apparent link between the attack on Glushkov and the poisoning of the Skripals, but both have raised alarm in the West at a time when Russian Federation is facing investigations over alleged interference in the Donald Trump's election as USA president.

The announcement from Russian Federation comes after British Prime Minster Theresa May said it was "highly likely" that Moscow was responsible for the poisoning.

"This crisis has arisen as a result of an appalling attack" in the United Kingdom involving "a chemical weapon developed in Russian Federation and not declared by Russian Federation at the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, as Russian Federation was and is obliged to do", Bristow told reporters in televised comments as he left the ministry.

He added: "We support exactly what the Prime Minister said and we condemn Russian Federation for this, condemn them".

She warned that Britain "will never tolerate a threat to the life of British citizens and others on British soil from the Russian government".

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, speaking to CNN, slammed that remark.

In a dramatic twist Friday, London's Metropolitan Police said that the death of Russian businessman Nikolai Glushkov, who was found dead Monday in his London home, was now being treated as murder.

Russian Federation has insisted it is ready to cooperate in investigating the attack in Salisbury if Britain reciprocates by sharing the evidence it holds. There's no evidence at this stage that his death and the attack on the Skripals are linked, it said. In 2008, Russian Federation ordered the council to close all its offices except the Moscow headquarters as part of retaliation for the UK's expulsion of diplomats over the radioactive poisoning of former security-service officer Alexander Litvinenko in 2006. "We continue to believe it is not in our national interest to break off all dialogue between our countries but the onus remains on the Russian state to account for their actions". He was granted refuge in the UK after a high-profile spy exchange between the United States and Russian Federation in 2010.
