Immediately following the life-saving kidney transplant from her best friend Francia Raísa, Selena Gomez suffered a life-or-death complication. The Grown-Ish star said, "My kidney was very active, and when it turned it broke an artery".

However, Francia has now admitted that her friend almost died during the surgery after an artery broke. That was it, and I didn't want to ask a single person in my life.

She explained that she chose to donate after Gomez broke down while they lived together: "She was asking me about my day and she grabbed a water bottle out of the fridge and tried to open it and couldn't". She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me.

Selena had previously explained there were some complications after the kidney transplant, but it was unknown how severe of a situation the singer was dealing with.

In October, Gomez opened up about the ordeal and revealed one of her kidneys had "flipped" inside her body, resulting in another six-hour surgery, while a normal kidney transplant takes just two hours. She chucked it and she started crying.

"I'm very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn't promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of", Gomez said.

"She went to go get tests, and she came home one day and she was serious", Raisa said.

Thankfully, doctors were able to stabilize Selena and she has fully recovered. Well, yes, the meltynautes, if the singer must now manage numerous problems of sentimental, she prefers to take a step back in order to take care of it. Because, in fact, things could take a turn absolutely catastrophic the a year ago. Fortunately she was a match and the girls secretly underwent surgery in July 2017 and while it was a success, the road to healing was long and daunting.

Francia also claimed that Selena "felt bad" asking her pal to undergo surgery to save her life, but the actress insisted she was happy to help. "I really left it up to her". I was like, "What is wrong with you?" And it just came out of me, and I said, "I'll get tested".
