Central AL Forecast Severe Weather Threat Over Rain Continues

That cold air could lead to a brief switch over from light rain to light snow showers from 12AM-7AM Monday morning. Overnight lows will be in the 30s and lower 40s, which is well above average.

A few light snow showers this morning with more numerous snow showers through the afternoon. But most of the area picked up at least a slushy inch or two with higher totals near the Virginia border and foothill areas. Winds will be breezy out of the northwest at 10 to 20 miles per hour. Temperatures are in the low 30-degree range, falling to the upper 20s through the night.

As our sunny and dry conditions slide off to the east, a Pacific weather system will bring rain and snow showers back to the region, moving from west to east.

For us, we will gradually start to see the heaviest rainfall track out of our area later this morning into the first part of the afternoon.

Tuesday welcomes the chance for rain showers throughout the day with the best chance kicking up by the afternoon.

Look for one more cold day Friday, before milder temperatures move in for the weekend.

THURSDAY: Partly sunny. High: Near 40. The York St. Patrick's Day parade on Saturday should be pleasant with a mix of sun and clouds.
