"We are only asking the BJP-led NDA Government to keep that promise and accord Special Category Status to the State", Tirupati MP V Varaprasad said. "Why can't the Centre extend assistance to build the capital, as promised in the Act?" he said also reminding the promise made by Narendra Modi during the 2014 election campaign that he would help build a capital better than Delhi.

Referring to BJP leaders' statements that funds for various development works and schemes were coming from the Centre, the Chief Minister said all that was peoples money.

"We reposed faith in Modi but he is not in a position to make it a reality, '" he said in his reply to the motion of thanks to the Governor's Address.

Ironically, Union railway minister Piyush Goel had told the Rajya Sabha on February 6 that the Centre was seriously considering the installation of the separate railway zone for Andhra Pradesh. It's the people's money. "He also charged the Centre with "deliberately" postponing things and finding excuses and propagating that he had accepted (what all they said)"... "The southern states contribute maximum tax revenues to the Centre, but the latter is diverting the money to the development of northern states", he alleged. All this is not correct.

The Lok Sabha had been witnessing similar scenes since 5 March with parties raising a host of issues such as Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud, special status for Andhra Pradesh, enhanced quota for Telangana and constitution of the Cauvery river board to settle Tamil Nadu's water dispute with neighbours. "We are still confident that the NDA government will take a positive decision on the matter", he said. So I am requesting... He asserted that there was "no turning back" as the fight for the states rights would continue "till we achieve everything thats due".

Arun Jaitley's remarks; sentiments can not increase the quantum of funds, during a press meet raised political heat between TDP and BJP both at the Centre and the State.

When the state was divided based on sentiment, is it not the Centres responsibility to honour the sentiment now? he asked.

"There is nothing called Central money or state's money". Isn't Telangana created as a result of sentiments of the people?
