This would then delete the message from the receiver's end.

WhatsApp's recently introduced "Delete for Everyone" feature has now submitted a new update to the Apple App Store.

It also looks like WhatsApp is planning to add a new feature called "Block Revoke Request" in the background to curb use of modified versions of the app, which allowed some users to delete messages sent as long as three years back. The messaging platform increased the limit from 420 seconds (or seven minutes) as part of WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.18.69.

If you use WhatsApp to communicate with your friends, you can now delete a message up to one hour, eight minutes, and 16 seconds after you send it.

In a related development, WhatsApp, after Android, has begun testing extended deadline for "delete for everyone" for iOS version. Now, it seems that the popular messaging app is planning of rolling out another feature "Block Revoke Request".

There are a multitude of reasons why, after sending an "instant message" that you might want to edit, erase, or revoke it.

Earlier, when a recipient received this particular message containing the revoke request, WhatsApp checked if the ID of the message was present in the database and if the original message was found, it directly deleted it without checking any other important information. This ensures that nobody can tamper with the feature to delete messages for everyone.

We're still waiting for official confirmation from WhatsApp, but it looks like if you've said something you'd rather not have said, or posted an embarrassing confession in the wrong group that, you're about to get more time to recall it.
