The memo said the leakers were Apple employees as well as contractors and supply chain partners.

It's no secret that Apple Stores have struggled to keep up with demand for iPhone battery replacements, and it appears the company is trying a new strategy to reduce fix times for customers with affected iPhones.

The official memo begins with recently leaked information about an internal meeting held by Apple's senior vice president of engineering, Craig Federighi.

According to sources inside the company, as reported byDigital Music News, Apple has locked in a firm date for the store shutdown. In 2017, Apple caught 29 leakers.

While it's still not clear, Apple might introduce the gold version to boost mid-year sales of iPhone X. If that indeed happens, we could see its debut at the Worldwide Developers Conference.

Apple also called part-time employees or those who normally work for AppleCare but ultimately was forced to call in people from other companies. Apple warns that it "may seem flattering" to be approached for information, but that in end, "you're getting played". "12 of those were arrested", said the memo published on Bloomberg. A scoop about an unreleased Apple product can generate massive traffic for a publication and financially benefit the blogger or reporter who broke it.

Apple would really, really like its employees to keep their mouths shut. Previous year they fired another employee for leaking details to 9to5mac.

Apple is known for not divulging any information about upcoming products before they launch.

Last year, Apple analyst Ming Chi-Kuo of KGI Securities anticipated a gold iPhone ahead of the September iPhone X release. Apple says leaked information can depress sales of existing product models, and give competitors more time to respond to features coming in future models. In the memo, the employees were threatened with losing their jobs if they revealed trade secrets. It is said that lowering the price of the iPhone X won't make much sense for Apple so it might just stop the production of the particular device.

While they carry serious consequences, leaks are completely avoidable.
