A boxer patched together with a corpse's tendon and another honouring dead siblings have joined Australia's golden surge at the Commonwealth Games.

But hopes of Rio Olympian Jason Whateley making it three for three for the host nation were dashed when he lost to New Zealand's David Nyika by unanimous decision in Saturday's 91kg final at Gold Coast's Oxenford Studios.

Boxers Anja Stridsman, on a re-built knee, and Skye Nicolson, whose brothers were killed in a vehicle crash, were among 10 Australian gold medal winners on Saturday.

Our men's basketballers brushed aside Scotland 103-46 in a semi-final and will meet Canada in Sunday's gold medal fixture.

Although her journey is over, Robertson still walks away with a bronze medal on her debut at the Games.

"Some of the decisions have been really bad lately, for Australia".

Sweden-born Stridsman tore an anterior cruciate ligament last September, very almost torpedoing her hopes.

"I would simply say enjoy Australia while you are here, this includes Cameroon and any other athletes, stay within the law and be mindful of the fact that there is a system in place in this country", Beattie told a news conference on Wednesday.

"I wish all six girls could have it (gold) on their CV, road cycling is such a cruel sport in that sense and I wouldn't have won today without those girls and I'm so grateful", she said.

Just one medal for the Aussies at the Athletics at Carrara Stadium, as Nina Kennedy took home the Bronze in the Women's Pole Vault.

It capped a mixed day for Australia's doubles teams.

The 31-year-old couldn't believe her achievement.

"I did get a bit emotional at times and a bit devastated, thinking, 'What if they replace me?'" she said.

Then Georgia Sheehan and Esther Qin picked up Silver and Bronze in the Women's 1m Springboard respectively, before Bedggood was in action again, winning Bronze in the Men's Synchronised 3m Springboard alongside Matthew Carter.

Fearnley will race alongside compatriot Jake Lappin, while Australian para-marathoners Eliza Ault-Connell and Madison de Rozario chase gold in the women's equivalent.

Meanwhile, Tapper secured Australia's first table tennis gold medal at a Commonwealth Games in the para TT6-10 singles category.
