Manika outplayed Mengyu Yu of Singapore 4-0 (11-7, 11-6, 11-2, 11-7) to clinch the gold medal.

This was Batra's third medal at the Gold Coast CWG.

The 35-year-old Mary Kom had won the Asian Championships gold five months ago, before taking the top honours at the India Open in January.

Gold Coast, April 14: Indian paddler Manika Batra clinched a gold medal in the women's singles category at the 21st Commonwealth Games here on Saturday.

India now ranks third in the medal tally with the 59 medals. In the first game I was down 1-6.
