Sony Confirms God of War 5 Will Also Be Rooted in Norse Mythology

Just today, Sony officially revealed the game's difficulty modes available and as well as an option called "Immersion Mode".

More and more games these days are offering interface customization options, allowing players to control just how much information fills up the screen. And then there's "Give Me God of War" which is the toughest mode, but it also supposedly varies enemy attack patterns and placements to make everything extra taxing.

If you have been following the development of the latest God of War game to enter the franchise, April 20th can not come soon enough.

For many, the wait is nearly over.

In an interview with Finder, Santa Monica's senior online community strategist Aaron Kaufman sat down and talked about the future of God of War, as well as the name choice.

Give Me A Balanced Experience: is the mode we'd recommend most players start with. There's "Give Me a Challenge" which is clearly more hard.

For reference, when describing this difficulty level Sony said it was for "those who wrestle polar bears in their undies" and from what is understood that is putting it mildly. Best of all, you can not change difficulties once you start a game on this mode, so if you suddenly realize you're in way over your head, you'll have to start a new game.

"God of War", the part-sequel-part-reboot of the storied God of War franchise, will feature the ability to remove almost all user-interfaces from your view of Kratos' world, leaving just the absolutely necessary HUD elements for the game, its heroes and villains to soak up your attention, the developers recently announced. Says Sony, "Don't be sorry, be better?" This startling reimagining of God of War deconstructs the core elements that defined the series - satisfying combat; breathtaking scale; and a powerful narrative - and fuses them anew. To enable Immersive UI, it's as easy as going to the Settings menu, clicking HUD and switching HUD Mode to Immersive. If players wish to change the difficulty in this mode they will have to start a whole new game.

God of War gets leaked by an unknown retailer.

I definitely dig the "bring up a HUD element temporarily with the touch pad" option.
