"Fortunately it didn't rain too hard and it helped with the softness of the course."Henderson is wearing a yellow and green ribbon on her shirt to honour the 16 players and team members killed in the Humboldt Broncos fatal bus crash".

Henderon shot a three-under 69 Saturday to extend her lead to four strokes. She is the first golfer from China — female or male — to reach No. 1 in the world rankings.

In its seventh year, the Lotte Championship at Ko Olina Golf Club has a seventh different victor.

Top-ranked Shanshan Feng (71), third-ranked Inbee Park (72) and sixth-ranked Ariya Jutanugarn (69) tied for third at 7-under.

As for runner-up Munoz, she matched her best result on tour in four years.

The LPGA Tour now moves to Los Angeles for the inaugural HUGEL-JTBC LA Open at the Wilshire Country Club.

"I hit it great this week, even with all the wind and everything", Henderson, 20, told Golf Channel. "I missed a couple putts, which you could argue that mentally I wasn't there because of a couple mishits, but I think to recover from that and kind of put it in the past and then go out and make some more birdies".

"Watching Pernilla Lindberg win her first major two weeks ago now, it was actually a lot of motivation and it really inspired me", Henderson described.

She might not be able to catch the top of the pack by Saturday's end, but Wie is now tied for 18th heading into tomorrow's final round.

The Canadian followed her opening 68 with a superb six-under-par 66 today to reach 10 under, two clear of American Mo Martin and Chinese world No.1 Shanshan Feng with another two shots back to the rest of the field, including Sweden's recent ANA Inspiration victor Pernilla Lindberg.

Maude-Aimee Leblanc of Sherbrooke, Que., tied for 50th at 5 over.

She played with Hawaii's Michelle Wie, the 2014 Lotte champ.
