Man tries to steal 5-year-old from taxi

The accused, who has been booked for rape, has been sent to police custody.

The murder suspect shot and killed by police Saturday after a multi-town chase has been identified as a 55-year-old Salem County man.

First responders arrived and found the victim with a gunshot wound.

Police were able to arrest him on two charges of aggravated assault on a police officer, evading arrest, and three felony warrants.

Authorities arrested the driver - 25-year-old Jonathan Carriger - on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

"The the girl raised an alarm when the youths molested her there and the inhabitants of the neighbouring quarters then informed the Deputy Jail Super Dhanajoy Bhattacharya", the sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) of Dharmanagar, Jyotisman Das Chowdhury, said.

Police alleged the man used a bar to break into multiple change machines, damaging the machines and removing money from them. Eckard then grabbed her "roughly" around the wrist, placed two fingers in her nostrils and slammed her head into the window of a vehicle several times, the woman told police.

Police followed the auto yet again, now joined by the Nueces County Sheriff's Department. Later that night, investigators were notified that yet another person had reported the same type of incident to police. "The interview with Suthrlen had so many similarities that it was unbelievable".

The Egyptian defendant was charged with resisting arrest, assaulting officers, insulting officers, and damaging a police uniform, as well as consuming alcohol. No bond was issued.

"We just jumped into action from there, I mean it's just reflexes and you know training kick in", Officer Reid said, "you do what you gotta do and go from there".
