President Donald Trump on Monday said that he will make a "major decision" on a response to a suspected chemical weapon attack in Syria that killed scores of people - "a barbaric act", he called it - over the next 24 to 48 hours.

Earlier in the day, Trump tweeted about the "STUPID TRADE" with China, saying that when a Chinese-made vehicle is sent to the US, the tariff is only 2.5 percent, while American cars exported to China are slapped with a 25 percent tariff.

Immediately afterward, he reverted to his usual threat: "If we don't make the right deal we'll terminate NAFTA and we'll make the right deal after that". American farmers are "great patriots", he said, and if they get hit with tariffs, they will understand that they are making a sacrifice "for the country". Over the weekend, USA officials said they had received similar assurances directly from senior North Korean counterparts. As the sojourn heads north, it generally dwindles to about 200 who actually hope to gain asylum in the US.

"Why do they always go round and round when you want to talk?"

In an effort to distract from the current woes of Stormy Daniels and the Russian probe, President Trump continues to wag the dog with distracting side issues.

The United States is not expected to apply its tariffs at least until June, according US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, White House chief economic adviser Larry Kudlow and other senior officials.

Trump said Monday that "Hopefully it will be a relationship that's much different than it has been for many, many years".

"It's not nice when they hit the farmers specifically because they think it hits me", Trump said, referring to China.

The 91-year-old Queen just showed us all yet again that her sharp sense of humour is still intact, maybe even getting sharper by the day.

"If we don't, they're going to have to pay pretty high taxes to do business with our country", he said.

President Donald Trump has condemned the "heinous" suspected poison gas attack in Syria and said he'll make a decision on the US response within 24 to 48 hours.

Karst added: "This latest trade action [by China], if it is on soybeans, if it does come about, it will have a devastating impact on USA soy farmers, and by extension all United States farmers".
