New BioShock game tipped underway at top-secret 2K studio

According the Kotaku's report, the studio and individual devs were hit hard when they lost out on bonuses, which were contingent on Mafia III getting either an 80 or 85 on Metacritic (it ended up with a score in the 60s).

The report focuses on Hangar 13, one of 2K's studios and also the studio behind Mafia III, but in one point in the article, it mentions how some of Hangar 13's staff moved to a different studio within 2K "to work on an unannounced new BioShock game".

A "top-secret" studio is working on the next BioShock game, and it's now being developed under the codename Parkside. Fans were more than a little shocked when BioShock creator Ken Levine announced the shutdown of Irrational Games in 2014, seemingly bringing the acclaimed series to an end. "Word got out, though, that it was in fact a new game in one of the most interesting shooter franchises of the past decade: BioShock". "It was all very tight-lipped". This is because a 2K studio of some kind is now working on the game as we speak.

"The issue is that Parkside's not ready for lots of people", said another person involved with goings-on at the company. "They're trying to be really smart about figuring out what the core thing is". Due to the uncertainty, many Hangar 13 employees have left, been laid off, or moved over to the new BioShock studio, which happens to be located right next door to Hangar 13. "They're careful about not falling into the same problem every studio has, where they have too many people and nothing for them to do". On top of that, previous Take-Two earnings calls have revealed that "a highly anticipated new title from one of 2K's biggest franchises" will release by March 31, 2019.

So now we know that Bioshock is returning, but will it be at E3 this year?
