PM Modi To Launch Insurance Scheme Railway Line During Chhattisgarh’s Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the first healthcare and wellness centre under Ayushman Bharat Yojna at Bijapur in Chhattisgarh. Under Ayushman Bharat, the government has chose to transform 1.5 lakh sub health centres to health and wellness centres in a bid to provide comprehensive primary healthcare.

"I bow to the hope that the name of Babasaheb carries", said the PM on the day the nation celebrated the birth anniversary of the father of India's Constitution. "Public participation will create a healthy, capable and content "New India", prime minister said.

PM Modi announced that he will not call the districts in Chhattisgarh as "backward".

Mentioning that Bijapur used to be regarded as a backward area once, he said that the district has earned a recognition across the country due to the pace of development and by courtesy of central schemes. Modi, who visited the Jangla health and wellness centre-which was earlier a community health centre- said the scheme aims to transform sub-centres and primary health care centres into health and wellness centres where facilities such as teleconsultation would be provided.

Under the scheme operated by the state's minor forest produce corporation, one person in each family of Tendu leaves collector is eligible for a pair of slippers. He also inaugurated the first phase of the Bastar Internet scheme under which a 40,000-km-long network of fiber optics cable would be spread across the seven districts of the tribal region.

On his fourth visit to Chhattisgarh, where assembly polls will be held later this year, PM Modi laid foundation stones for road and bridge projects worth over Rs 1,700 crore.
