Here Are The Two Heavy Hitters Who Just Visited Meek Mill In Prison

The sentence sparked backlash not only because many saw it as being too harsh but because the judge acted against the recommendations of the prosecution and Mill's probation officer.

Since Meek Mill received 2-4 years in jail for a parole violation last November, many have stood up to support him and to demand justice.

Well-known celebrities, including James Harden, Colin Kaepernick, and Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, as well as wealthy moguls, such as Robert Kraft & billionaire, Mike Rubin, have gone so far as to visit & support Mill. Rubin is a vocal supporter of the #FreeMeekMill movement himself. According to the Washington Post, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft (who did not appear in the video), visited the rapper at the Pennsylvania state prison this week.

Kraft said Mill's incarceration makes it clear that "we have to do something with criminal justice reform". Krasner also said he had no issue with Mill's being released while the appeal was litigated.

Mill spoke to news anchor Lester Holt from the Chester prison where he is being held in a phone interview that aired Thursday on "NBC Nightly News". "And I think God put me in this position to be able to do a show with Lester Holt and open up eyes for other young black men", he continued.

And it sounds like Kraft walked away from meeting Meek Mill incredibly impressed with the rapper. "Meek doesn't even play football so I don't see how it's a publicity ploy", he said. "This guy is a great guy and shouldn't be here". "Our criminal justice system is in need of fix".
