The Greatest Royal Rumble: Chris Jericho replaces Rusev in Casket Match

The Undertaker is in for Greatest Royal Rumble

"The Greatest Royal Rumble" event just got a huge shakeup, as WWE announced on Wednesday it was changing up one of its top matches involving the Undertaker.

You can see how WWE explained the match change in their official announcement below.

WWE.com reported on Wednesday the storyline reason for the change was Rusev's wife Lana publicly campaigning on Twitter for Rusev to be pulled from the match as she anxious for his safety. It was said that while Mysterio and WWE have been in talks recently about a full-time return to the company (outside of the confirmed Saudi Arabia appearance), it has not been confirmed yet if the two sides have agreed on terms.

For those who missed it, the storyline reason for Rusev being pulled was Lana refusing to allow him to compete in the Casket Match.

The Undertaker will take on Rusev in a Casket match in King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.

When asked if Undertaker was past his prime, "The Bulgarian Brute" responded, "Just a little bit". But WWE has since replaced Rusev with six-time world champion Chris Jericho.

"I'll beat him so bad, maybe it's his last fight, yeah".

The Undertaker's wife, Michelle McCool, took exception to this and took to Twitter and shared her thoughts on Rusev's comments. Although Jericho has never been a part of such an ominous showdown, WWE's first Undisputed Champion has battled in virtually every other kind of match WWE has to offer, and if his extensive résumé says anything, it's that he knows how to win when it counts. It should also be noted that Rusev never actually vowed to "crush [Undertaker's] old ass".
