NCP: Amit Shah must clarify stand on Mhadei issue

On Sunday, Shah is expected to hold a meeting each with ruling coalition partners and members of BJP's legislative wing respectively, before addressing a gathering of BJP's booth workers at an indoor stadium near the state capital.

Urging his workers to start work for upcoming Lok Sabha election, Parrikar said that the coming year is very important as the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections will be held in April-May. "We have to take the oath that in the year 2019, we will win both the (Lok Sabha) seats (in Goa), and in the next assembly elections we will win in at least 35 out of the total 40 constituencies in Goa", he said.

The BJP leader said that India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, was being looked at in a new light after the surgical strikes of 2016. "I told this to Parrikar, when I had phoned him before coming here", BJP MP said.

The Congress on Friday accused BJP national president Amit Shah of "MLA shopping", two days ahead of his one-day visit to the coastal state.

He said the BJP's "soul" lies in its booth workers who are the focal point of the party. There is repeated instability in Goa, where Governments come and go.

"I told Parrikarji to take care of his health".

The Congress in Goa on Sunday again said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah should immediately appoint a full-fledged Chief Minister in place of an ailing Manohar Parrikar. He said this in a video message in a BJP meet. They further requested the State police chief to initiate disciplinary action against the Tirupati urban police for failing to provide adequate security to Amit Shah. Goa Pradesh Congress president Girish Chodankar paid his respects at the samadhi of Bandodkar along with the other MLAs and Congress leaders, after which he issued a stern warning to government officers not to approve illegal proposals. "The same BJP now has around 1,800 MLAs, 330 MPs, highest number of zilla panchayat members, councillors and the most state governments, Chief Ministers...", he remarked.
