The devices are created to straddle work and play environments, which means they are functional but stylish. The convertible and new notebooks also feature Sure View, a new feature that blocks your screen from being viewed at an angle, a useful tool when working on confidential material in public. This option stores the software system image in embedded memory, ensuring data recovery even if the hard drive is wiped and no network connection is available.

Touted to be the world's smallest convertible for business, it is also one of the lightest weighing just under 1.25kg and is 15.8mm slim.

HP rates the Envy 13 with a maximum battery life of 14 hours, but we find most run time estimates dubious, especially when the numbers are attached to undefined 'mixed usage'. The machine can also be fitted with an outdoor viewable display. It too comes with an 8th Gen Intel quad-core processor. It is touted to deliver 16 hours of battery life on a single charge and comes with up to 4TB of SSD storage. HP EliteBook is best for video conferencing as it is equipped with an FHD pop-up webcam, integrated collaboration keys, powerful audio and HP noise cancellation feature. The USB Type-C portable display helps easily connect other devices.

Today's consumer wants a device that can do it all - whether at home, work or school, their device needs to keep up with their demanding lifestyle.

The Envy 13 and 17 laptops are more or less the same device in different sizes. If you opt to buy an Envy laptop with Sure View, HP says you'll be getting a notebook with a brighter screen than you would otherwise. The Envy lineup has been refreshed with two laptops (the HP Envy 13 and 17) and two 2-in-1 notebooks (Envy x360 13 and 15), and the new 1000 series debuts with three models (the HP EliteBook x360 1030 2-in-1, the Elite x2 1013 G3 detachable, and EliteBook 1050 G1 laptop).

The Envy 13 will be available in May starting at $1,000 (roughly converted to £740 or AU$1,320) and features an eighth-gen Intel Core i7 processor, PCIe NVMe SSDs and integrated graphics.

Users can choose from AMD Ryzen CPUs or Intel, Radeon Vega or GeForce MX 150 graphics, and 1080p or 4K screens. The 15-inch model also supports HP Fast Charge, for 50 percent battery life in 45 mins.

The second series by HP is the HP ENVY Portfolio which packs more features. This device is also available with either Intel or AMD processors, powerful storage and memory options, and up to a 4K display.

The HP Envy 17 Laptop is a real desktop replacement.

HP ENVY Curved AiO 34 is set to be the first PC with Amazon's Alexa personal digital assistant built-in. Through an intuitive audio dial, users can control the volume or skip songs on a playlist. The ENVY Desktop will go on sale in May, priced from $799.99. "The EliteBook 1050 G1 is a business-class 15.6" ultrathin laptop featuring up to an Intel Core i7-8850H six-core processor, up to 32GB of DDR4-2666 SODIMM memory (two slots), and up to GeForce GTX 1050 4GB GDDR5 graphics.

The 15.6-inch Envy x360 15 is coming this month and will be sold with AMD (starting at $750) and Intel (starting at $870) processors.
