United States officials confirmed it had responded to an explosion.

At least one person was killed and two others hurt in an explosion at a building in Aliso Viejo Tuesday afternoon.

The FBI was sending resources to the scene, but agency spokesperson Mike Gifford said there was no early indication of terrorism, CNN reporter Kristen Holmes tweeted. The person who died was inside the building when the blast occurred.

An Orange County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman said: "We're trying to determine if a vehicle was involved or if it was an accident or inside the building".

Officials didn't consider the explosion suspicious and they found no explosive devices.

"As far as what I'm hearing there was no vehicle involved", Carrie Braun of the Orange County Sheriff's Department said.

Initial reports of the explosion claimed a auto crashed into the building around 1 p.m. and that the explosion was not considered suspicious.

There was no word on whether any explosive devices were in the building.

Orange County Fire Authority Chief Brian Fennessy said children at a daycare across the street were not injured.

". They weren't on fire, they were helping each other across the street, walking very slowly and a lot of shock, shaking, just full of ash all over their face, eyes bloodshot, just blood all over", the woman said. The nature of their injuries were not immediately known. Bomb squad investigators were on scene, and Federal Bureau of Investigation agents were en route.

Bommarito could not provide the status of the three individuals taken to the hospital. Crews on scene of possible explosion in Aliso ViejoOne person was pronounced dead at the scene, and three others were injured, OCFA said.
