Lyon provide Liverpool with transfer update on'hesitating Nabil Fekir

Liverpool and Lyon will meet this week to discuss a deal for Nabil Fekir.

Fekir has scored 23 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions for Lyon this season.

The Liverpool new boy, asked whether he would like the Reds to sign Fekir, said on French radio station RMC: "Yes".

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has insisted that Nabil Fekir still "has a future" with the club despite speculation that he is close to joining Liverpool.

"He is a very good player, of worldwide level, ' he told RMC Sport".

French newspaper L'Equipe, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo, is reporting that the Reds are keen to conclude a deal to bring the 24-year-old France worldwide to Anfield this summer. In Ligue 1, it is not only this season that he has shown things.

Roma director of football Monchi has played down reports linking goalkeeper Alisson with a potential switch to Liverpool.

"If he comes, it would be good too". I said it a few times, I'm turning 51 next month or so, I lost games in my life before, I won games in my life before - I know how to deal with that.

We must sign Fekir before the World Cup.

Lyon's maestro will travel with France to the 2018 FIFA World Cup next month after greatly impressing for his club this term, and it's possible his price could rocket further if he performs well in Russian Federation.

The 24-year-old has been strongly linked with a £60m move to Anfield this summer as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who left to join Barcelona in January, although last week Fekir revealed that he is "not close" to making a decision over his future.
