Metro Exodus Delayed For PS4, Xbox One, PC

Originally announced previous year, (and rumoured long before that), Metro Exodus, developed by 4A Games, will bring the series penchant for grim, claustrophobic locations and grotesque post-apocalyptic creatures screaming to the current generation of platforms.

Metro Exodus was revealed at E3 2017 with a 2018 release widow.

The press release is worded rather interesting, with the PR noting that Deep Silver has been "keeping an eye" on the announcements from their competitors and monitoring the release windows for when other FPS games will launch.

It looks like Metro Exodus isn't quite ready for the limelight yet, because as part of THQ Nordic's latest financial results briefing, the game was delayed out of 2018, and into Q1 2019. They note that since this is the most ambitious Metro game in the series - and that they want it to be the best that it can be - they chose to move the release date back by a couple of quarters. There is more information to be found in the full interview, which you can check out above, but as it stands, players should be excited to know that Exodus is planning to be a huge game. Official reasons for the delay are not called.

Metro Exodus is an epic, story-driven first person shooter from 4A Games that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created.

On a lighter note, the developer confirmed that we'll see more of Metro Exodus at next months E3 in Los Angeles with some brand new gameplay from a never seen before environment to be showcased during the expo.
