Winds pick up for Friday, warm stretch continues

Huntsville hit 90ºF for the second-straight day Friday, and we've got at least three more before it gets any cooler with a good chance of scattered showers and storms next week.

Lows will be in the 60s Saturday night. While the warm temperatures hang around, look for better storm chances to show up, especially by mid-week. Isolated severe storms are expected, generally on the mainland.

Rain, storms, and stiff breezes stay away this weekend, but next weekend may be a different story.

Expect humid and hotter-than-usual weather for your outdoor plans in central Virginia this Mother's Day weekend.

Monday may start out cloudy, but the sky will become partly sunny and temperatures will reach the 70s in the afternoon.

Happy Friday! Temperatures are once again in the 60s this morning under clear skies.

Less wind, but still breezy for Mother's Day.

Saturday kicks off the weekend with highs well into the 80s, flirting with 90 degrees in some areas across the Upstate. We'll start our with steady rain throughout the morning south of the I-10 corridor, then off and on showers will persist region-wide though the rest of the day. Highs during that stretch will be in the mid to upper 80s. The day that we celebrate you is going to be hot and sunny.

Storm chances increase on Tuesday and look to be highest from Wednesday into Thursday as multiple storm systems slide across the area.
