Nebraska to face Seton Hall in 2018 Gavitt Games Creighton will host Ohio State

Played in honor of David Gavitt, the first commissioner of the Big East, this event is entering its fourth season.

All eight Gavitt Tipoff Games are televised nationally on either FS1 or BTN.

If this does end up being the case, that rematch in the 2018 Gavitt Games will be exciting for Villanova and MI since both teams will be looking to make early statements about being serious contenders.

The headliner is the rematch of Villanova's 79-62 NCAA championship game victory over MI.

Among the 16 participating schools, six played in the NCAA Tournament past year and three played in the NIT.

The Gavitt Tipoff Games schedule begins on Tuesday, Nov. 13, with Georgetown playing at IL and Wisconsin traveling to Xavier.

The Huskers return four starters for seventh-year coach Tim Miles, including first-team All-Big Ten guard James Palmer Jr., from a team that went 22-11 last season, including a school-record 13 Big Ten wins. The Nov. 14 matchups include Marquette at IN and Seton Hall at Nebraska as well as the Michigan-Villanova game. Wisconsin and Xavier met in last year's Gavitt Games when the Musketeers defeated the Badgers on the road.

Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois will be the home of the Gavitt Tipoff Games. Penn State and DePaul will be meeting.

The Gavitt Tipoff Games concludes with St. John's playing at Rutgers on Friday, Nov. 16. The Big Ten and Big East conference offices jointly announced the game dates and opponents Tuesday. Each edition consists of eight games with a couple of teams from both conferences sitting out.
