The Father Of Four Children Killed In WA Shooting Has Broken His Silence

"I had so much anger in the last few years", he said.

"The loss of any life is tragic, but four children and three adults, this is a significant tragedy", he said.

Two adults were found outside the property and the other five bodies discovered inside.

Asked if the two-minute emergency call made from the property at 5.15am on Friday was the reason police were so quickly able to rule out a gunman was on the loose, Mr Dawson said: "That's not for me to expand on now".

The seventh body was found outside, and helicopter footage of the property showed what appeared to be the body of an older man slumped in a chair on the veranda outside.

Ms Miles, who was separated from her husband, was described as a devoted mother who worked tirelessly to provide for her "smart and beautiful" children.

Three firearms licensed to Mr Miles were found by investigators.

Cockman, who told reporters in Margaret River he was estranged from Katrina, said "Peter didn't snap".

Slain grandma Cynda Miles was an ardent and respected environmentalist. The young mother was named locally as Katrina Miles.

"Her wealth of knowledge and willingness to share her passion for home education was something that we are all incredibly grateful for", she said. "This devastating incident will no doubt have a lasting impact on the families concerned, the whole community, and in particular the communities in the southwest".

"Our thoughts are with her family at this time as they grieve the loss of a lovely mother and her precious babies".

"If it had to happen, there is no better person than that".

"She was a good person and a kind and a gentle person, and so was the grandmother, they were handsome people".

Mr Cockman told a press conference on Sunday that he had been full of anger after Mr Miles and his wife cut him off from seeing his children.

"Cynda was very kind, very giving and community minded". "I'll get them back someday", Peter and Cynda, that is. She said he was not an outgoing fellow.

"So it's not some random guy off the street who's taken them away from me - he gave them to me and now he's taken them away".

Cynda and Peter were well known in the Margaret River area - she for her extensive community involvement and he for his longstanding and successful farm maintenance business.

"The hairs on my arms where standing up all day yesterday, it really grabbed me because of the kids involved", he said.

WA Premier Mark McGowan is expected to visit the region today to offer his support.

WA Police commissioner Chris Dawson confirmed the identities of the deceased in what is being described as Australia's worst mass shooting in more than two decades.
