Ryan Reynolds Won't Let His Daughters Become Child Stars

Deadpool vs. Stephen Colbert

Before its official release Deadpool 2 has started screening for critics around the world and many are calling it the Fox superhero sequel better than the original film. After Colbert asked when audiences were going to be sick of superhero movies, Reynolds strolled out in full costume to suggest Deadpool 2 would be the final straw.

During a Tuesday stop by Good Morning America to promote his new superhero comedy sequel Deadpool 2, the 41-year-old actor jokingly likened juvenile stardom to "child abuse".

Aside from an interesting storyline or any real character development, Deadpool 2 delivers on what it promises - a butt-load of double entendres, mostly amusing comic-book humor, effective music choices (including a new Celine Dion song - ha!), exaggerated, Kill Bill-style violence and Reynolds hamming it up and delivering one-liners that will likely become memes in a few weeks. The Deadpool movies have become a neat little sandbox for Ryan Reynolds to play in and just go wild. "You're tall, you're handsome, you have the flawless amount of scruff and you still have no talent", he said at one point.

They'll need some to take on Cable (Josh Brolin, making his second Marvel-villain appearance this year after Avengers: Infinity War's genocidal Thanos). He sees the world through the prism of a child's eyes sometimes and that's also why he's tempestuous and obnoxious and misguided so much of the time too. And if you hadn't picked up on the fact that them recycling jokes, hell even the story itself was an enormous piss-take then maybe you're missing the point. There are so many of them! The films show it is possible to make a massively entertaining action movie that fires off one-liners faster than bullets (and there are a LOT of bullets).

Reynolds is credited with two other writers for this sequel, which gives you a good idea how attached he is to the character. But most of these scenes do not stick.

Deadpool 2 knows it has its work cut out, but also revels in its own unexpected pedigree. Deadpool 2 new teaser is out, featuring Ryan Reynolds and the soccer great David Beckham hanging out feud. Reynolds has harnessed his comical energies so freaking awesome, but it is the emotional beat to his performance that makes his character such a charmer. Not all of the jokes land due to the sheer quantity of them, but for the most part it'll have you cracking up much like the first one did (unless you didn't find the first one amusing in which case, you nearly definitely won't find this one funny).

Will we get to see a Dopinder spin-off anytime in the future? . Julian Dennison is talented.
