Seann William Scott to star in 'Lethal Weapon' Season 3

Fox has renewed the Warner Bros. Television procedural while replacing its troubled leading star

TV had fired Clayne Crawford from his role as Martin Riggs in the TV adaptation of Lethal Weapon due to his on-set behaviour, with a third season renewal dependent on whether or not they could find a suitable replacement going forward. Scott will play a new role that is folded into the series to fill the shoes of the departed Riggs as Roger Murtaugh's (Damon Wayans) partner.

"Seann is a fantastic addition to this already wonderful cast", said Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn.

FOX has made a decision to renew its action drama series Lethal Weapon for a third season, but it's not exactly that cut and dry.

One of the most dramatic storylines this upfront season has come to an end, with American Pie alum Seann William Scott tapped to star opposite Damon Wayans on Fox's Lethal Weapon.

After being reprimanded following two incidents earlier this year, Crawford is rumoured to have been sacked from the show - although he claims he hasn't been told by his bosses. Sources have told EW that the decision was a hard one and was due to Crawford exhibiting a pattern of toxic behavior on the set and that there is video and audio evidence of such behavior. Matthew Miller is the creator and showrunner, with Warner Bros.

Wayans, Keesha Sharp, Kevin Rahm, Jordana Brewster, Johnathan Fernandez, Dante Brown, Chandler Kinney and Michelle Mitchenor star in "Lethal Weapon", which comes from Warner Bros. TV.

"Lethal Weapon" is based on the feature film franchise of the same name.

EF Television will bring you more information on Lethal Weapon season 3 as it is announced. Matt Miller, Dan Lin, Jennifer Gwartz and McG serve as executive producers. His starring role in Lethal Weapon season three will be Scott's first time taking on a network series regular role.

Stifler's about to get a "Lethal Weapon". Television producing in association with Lin Pictures and Good Session Productions.
