Last week, the NFL enacted a new national anthem policy that stated players were not required to report to the field for the anthem, but if they were on the field and did not stand, their team would be punished.

"Let's [not] give him that much credit", Jones testified, according to the Journal.

Press not cheering fines for kneeling players. "This one lifts me", Trump continued.

Now, it's possible Trump's constant attacks of the protesting players led some people to watch and attend less games.

The teams will also be permitted to pass fines along to any player or personnel for anthem-related infractions. They have the option to remain in the locker room for the anthem if they choose.

The Journal reported that the depositions suggest the league was influenced to issue the new policy by Trump's activism on the matter. The lawsuit says they have "have colluded to deprive Mr. Kaepernick of employment rights in retaliation for Mr. Kaepernick's leadership and advocacy for equality and social justice and his bringing awareness to peculiar institutions still undermining racial equality in the United States".

According to the depositions of Jerry Jones and Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, obtained by the Wall Street Journal, the president may have been justified. "He's fired! He's fired!'" Trump said.

"I was totally supportive of [the players] until Trump made his statement", Ross reportedly said.

"I thought he changed the dialogue", he continued.

So far, more than a dozen people have been deposed in the grievance, with some of the known targets including Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Biscotti, Houston Texans owner Bob McNair, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, and Denver Broncos general manager John Elway.
