In another such incident, a barista at a Starbucks in La Cañada Flintridge, California reportedly wrote a racial slur on a Latino customer's coffee cup instead of his name. It's a coffee run they make just about every day.

The customer, identified as Pedro, said he ordered two coffees, a "Venti White Mocha" and "Venti Ice Caramel Macchiato", from the cafe and received his order with the word "beaner" on both cups where the customer's name is usually printed, reported KNBC in Los Angeles. However, Pedro rejected the claim and said the barista clearly called out his name while he waiting his order to get prepared.

"I didn't accept it because it's like an insult overall", he said, according to NBC.

A Starbucks customer says she found this label on the cup of her Latino co-worker.

In an effort to compensate the experience, the location offered Pedro a $50 gift card. "It brings back a lot of old, you know, growth that we should've had before".

Meanwhile, a friend of Pedro's tells KTLA he's been "sad" about the issue.

"After the April 12 incident, Starbucks vowed to "take actions" to fix and reaffirm our values and vision for the kind of company we want to be".

But on Thursday Morning, Pedro met with the company's local leadership team who wanted to rectify the situation.

Starbucks has yet to respond to a request for comment from Newsweek.

This Starbucks incident comes after two black men were arrested while sitting inside a Starbucks in Philadelphia.

Starbucks already planned to close all of its more than 8,000 US stores on the afternoon of May 29 to conduct racial bias training for employees after an April incident in which employees called police on two black men who were waiting for a business associate, asked to use the bathroom, and were told bathrooms were only for paying customers, USA Today reported.

Starbucks for its part has apologized.
