Emery eyes Arsenal title tilt; reveals playing philosophy

Unai Emery has stamped his authority at Arsenal already by demanding Lucas Perez returns to pre-season training in July.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has hailed new head coach Unai Emery and said the club had "stagnated" under Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last season after the Gunners conceded 51 times in 38 games in the English top-flight campaign.

And Emery tried to sign Seri in January for Paris Saint Germain, but concerns over Financial Fair Play Rules meant the French club opted to bring in Lassana Diarra on a free transfer instead.

Emery explains his style as intense and pressing and Arsenal fans thinks that Ozil will not fit the Spaniard's game play as the German worldwide has been always accused of being lazy.

Despite the 68-year-old suggesting that many teams wanted him as manager, he always stayed faithful to Arsenal, the helm of which he occupied for 22 years.

"It's a three-year contract", he said."I think we need to understand that success isn't instant".

Gazidis told reporters, "What was really impressive was when you scratched the surface to go deeper and deeper and deeper".

"It is odd that the coach has left after 22 years". But at that time the daily involvement for me was important.

"But that's life - we have to look forward".

It has been more than a decade since Arsenal sustained a title challenge-they didn't even give Leicester City any trouble in 2015-16 amid poor seasons from Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea-and they finally slipped out of the UEFA Champions League spots in the past two years. I just felt that it was a very sensitive period for Arsenal Football Club.
